This policy applies to Word Wheel, the English vocabulary game published by Sabri Can Çetinbaş on the App Store.
Word Wheel collects almost nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking. When the app opens it sends our server one random install ID, made up by the app itself, so we can count how many people play. Purchases are handled by Apple and checked through RevenueCat. Your progress, coins, settings and statistics are saved in a single file on your device and never leave it. The game works fully offline.
When Word Wheel opens and the device is online, it sends one request to our server. The request contains:
For each install ID the server stores the date it was first seen and the date the app was last opened. As with any internet request, our hosting provider also receives your IP address; it is not saved with the install ID. We use this only to count installs and daily players. We do not receive your name, e-mail address, phone number, location, answers, scores or anything else you do in the game.
| Data | Why | Where it is |
|---|---|---|
| Level progress, stars, current round | Continue where you left off | Your device only |
| Coins, energy, power-up and Premium status | Run the in-game economy | Your device only |
| Statistics, achievements, rank, avatar, frame and keyboard choice | Show your progress and profile | Your device only |
| Settings: interface language, sound, haptics | Remember your preferences | Your device only |
This data is kept in the app's private storage. It is not backed up to any server of ours, and it is removed when you delete the app. On first launch the app reads your device's language list only to choose the language the game starts in; that choice is saved on your device and nothing is sent anywhere.
Coin packs and Word Wheel Premium are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy; we never see your card details, billing address or Apple Account.
To check purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives the install ID described in section 1 and the App Store's record of your purchases (which product, when, and whether Premium is active). It does not receive your name, e-mail address or payment details. When your Premium status changes, the app also tells our server whether this install has Premium, so the two stay in step. Coins you buy are added to the save file on your device; the App Store transaction ID is kept there too, so the same payment is never counted twice.
Word Wheel asks for no permissions. It does not use the camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location, calendar, health data or notifications. Game sounds and haptics are played locally and can be turned off in Settings.
Delete the app and every piece of data on the device is gone. The install ID stays in the device keychain; erasing the device or resetting its keychain removes it. To delete the server record for your install, or for any other question, write to scancetinbas@icloud.com.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing. The only data we hold is the install ID record described in section 1, and we will delete it on request. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Word Wheel is a general-audience language game and is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children; the install ID is a random code that does not identify a person. All questions and clues are pre-written and reviewed; nothing in the app is generated or shared by other users.
If the app starts sending or storing any other data, we will update this page and the date at the top before that version is released, and describe the change in the release notes.
