At Hush, your privacy is our absolute highest priority. We built Hush to be a premium, secure experience. This policy explains our strict data handling practices.
Hush only detects key press events to play sounds and count total keystrokes. Typed content is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Hush is designed to operate without ever collecting your personal input. We explicitly do not track, collect, store, or transmit:
Because Hush operates globally across all your macOS applications, it requires macOS Input Monitoring (or Accessibility) permissions. This permission is used strictly for one purpose: detecting when a key is pressed so we can instantly play an ambient sound.
The app instantly discards the identity of the key pressed. It only uses the event trigger to play a sound and increments a local counter for your total lifetime keystrokes. We do not run any background processes that record your keystrokes.
Hush does not collect personal information like your name, email, or usage content. To manage premium subscriptions and purchases, we only collect the following minimal technical data:
Hush offers optional premium in-app purchases and subscriptions. We use RevenueCat to manage these transactions.
RevenueCat securely links your anonymous Device ID to your purchase history. All actual payment transactions are processed securely through Apple's native StoreKit. We do not have direct access to your payment, billing information, or Apple ID.
Any application data generated by Hush (such as total keystrokes, pomodoro focus time, and app settings) is stored locally and securely on your device. This personal app usage data never leaves your Mac and is not synced to our servers.
Other than securely communicating your anonymous Device ID to RevenueCat for purchase validation, we do not share any data with third-party tracking, advertising, or analytics services. Your privacy is paramount, and we do not monetize or sell any information collected through this app.
We may update this policy if our practices change. Because we do not collect your email address, we cannot notify you directly. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Our commitment to never recording your typed content will never change.
